Aspiring Heads Programme

Aspiring Headteacher Programme

Bedfordshire Borough, Central Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Luton are delighted to be working in partnership with local Teaching School Alliances to deliver this well established programme for aspiring heads, consisting of face-to-face training days, shadowing activities, coaching opportunities and a regional aspiring heads' conference.

Throughout the programme you will be supported by a range of people, including LA officers and experienced local headteachers.

Target audience
The programme is aimed at senior leaders who are considering Headship, but who have not yet embarked on the NPQH.

Programme format
Participants are invited to a launch with their Headteachers. The programme then consists of four face-to-face practical sessions with tasks to perform in between the meetings. Each participant will have a one to one coaching session and the opportunity for a leadership placement in another school. Also included is free access to the Luton Schools Spring Conference.

£300 per person (subsidised by the Regional Succession Planning Group).

How to apply
Places are limited so an early application, supported by your Headteacher is advised. Simply email Tony Cotton via with a brief outline of why this programme is of interest.
